Abortion — ask before you act

Do not rely on a website for what Mississippi allows. A nurse can listen to what you are facing and help you find accurate next steps. Packs can still arrive in the mail. They are two drugs, not one. A mailbox cannot tell you if the pregnancy is in the uterus.

What the body still has to do

FDA-approved labeling for the mifepristone regimen is for medical termination of intrauterine pregnancy through 70 days gestation. The approved regimen is not treatment for ectopic pregnancy. Pain and bleeding may resemble a ruptured ectopic. A ruptured ectopic can be fatal.

Medication abortion can fail. The pregnancy can continue.

Soak two thick pads an hour for two consecutive hours: that is an ER. If you are crashing before the second hour, do not wait.

How to use what you read
